Webb Langford Batchelor, age 80, of Kiester, MN, died Monday, February 26, 2018 at his home of natural causes. Due to the family's circumstances, no formal services are planned. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is assisting the family.

Webb was born on June 4, 1937 in Minneapolis, the son of Edward and Ruth (Webb) Batchelor. He grew up in Minnetonka with his parents and sister. He graduated from St. Cloud State University and subsequently taught high school English in Towner, ND. Webb was united in marriage to Martha Enser on May 17, 1969. He worked for TCF Bank for 17 years. The family lived in New Richmond, WI, for a period of time before moving to Kiester, MN. During his later years, Webb worked at the Kee Theatre in Kiester, MN. He was an avid reader and philosopher throughout his adult life, constantly seeking knowledge and enlightenment from the books he read. The topics of religion, philosophy, metaphysics, and Christian Universalism were of particular interest to him. His intellectual curiosity was amazing, and he would enthusiastically share his philosophical theories with anyone willing to listen. Webb's passion for reading was second only to his love of family, including pets. He served as the family's chauffeur for many years and cherished every minute with his wife, children, and cats. Webb was a truly unique person and will be missed by many people who have known him over the years.

Webb is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Ruth (Webb) Batchelor.

He is survived by his wife, Martha, of Kiester, MN; sister, Jean Woods, of Minneapolis; children: Amy Batchelor of Kiester, MN, Tom Batchelor of Kiester, MN, and John Batchelor of Ames, IA; a perfect cat, Smokey; and many other friends and relatives.
