Robert "Bob" Henry Schweer, age 93 of Waldorf, MN, died Thursday, January 31, 2019 at The Beacon in Mapleton, MN. A memorial service will be held Monday Feb.4, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the First Lutheran Church in Waldorf, MN with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Michael Mathews will officiate and burial will be in First Lutheran Church Cemetery in Waldorf. Please leave online condolences at www.brussheitner.com. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is assisting the family.
Bob was born May 16, 1925 in Mapleton Twp, Blue Earth Co. MN, the son of Raymond August Carl and Agnes Lorina (Morrow) Schweer. Bob was united in marriage to Thelma Mae Beelow December 30, 1950, recently celebrating their 68th anniversary. Together they had 3 boys, Mark, Scott and Dale. Bob farmed his entire life in Waldorf, MN and was an active member of First Lutheran Church in Waldorf. He was on the Waldorf school board for many years. He enjoyed playing cards, going fishing with his grandchildren, researching the stock market, square dancing and traveling. For 15 years he enjoyed his winters in Sun City, AZ. Bob especially enjoyed the oranges and grapefruits that grew in his yard in Sun City and his Mazda pickup.
Bob is survived by his wife Thelma; 3 children: Mark (Sherri) Schweer of San Diego, CA, Scott (Lori) Schweer of Minnesota Lake, MN, Dale (Pam) Schweer of Waldorf, MN; grandchildren: David Schweer (Val'eria), Daniel Schweer, Debra Lopez (Antwan), Josh Schweer all of San Diego, CA, Jason (Alicia) Schweer of Minneapolis, MN, Kevin (Laura) Schweer of Minnesota Lake, MN, Bethany (Alex) Huls of Alexandria, MN and Tanner Schweer of Sioux Falls, SD; great-grandchildren: Noah, Hannah, Caleb, Lucas Schweer and Lachlan Huls; sisters: Louise Bartelt of Waldorf, MN and Ruth Roesler of Wells, MN; sister-in-law: Beulah Ewald of Waldorf, MN, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Donald Schweer and brothers-in-law: Gordon Bartelt, Donald Roesler and Lyle Ewald.
