Maynard Andrew Stenzel, age 79, of New Richland, MN, died Wednesday, March 13, 2019. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 18, 2019 at 10:30 AM, at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells, MN, with Fr. Matt Fasnacht officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, March 17, 2019 from 2:00-5:00 PM at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, MN, and continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at St. Casimir Cemetery. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is assisting the family.

Maynard was born March 13, 1940, in Carlston Township, Freeborn County, MN, the son of Andrew P. and Cleo A. (Swehla) Stenzel. He was united in marriage to Syvilla Marie Mills, August 19, 1961 at St. Casimir Church in Wells, MN, and to this union 5 children were born. The couple enjoyed card clubs and going south in the winter to Florida. Maynard liked watching the birds, collecting stamps and coins. He spent his time mowing the lawn, raising livestock, repairing equipment, checking the crops and fishing. He loved getting together with his kids and grandkids, and you could always find him with a piece of candy. Maynard was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells.

Maynard is survived by his children: Dawn (Gary) Strohman of Makinen, MN, Donna Kay Stenzel of Sarasota, FL, Jarrod (Kelly) Stenzel, Rosemount, MN, Dayna Besser of New Richland, MN, Jason (Stacy) Stenzel of Waseca, MN; 17 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings: Howard (Patricia) Stenzel of Blaine, MN and Kay (Tom) Sherratt of Le Sueur, MN; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Syvilla, great-grandson, Jeremiah Meza and brother Roger.
