Marian Josephine Weckwerth, age 97, of Wells, MN, died Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Parkview Care Center in Wells, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, September 30, 2019 at 11:00 AM St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Minnesota Lake, MN with Father Greg Havel officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, September 29, 2019 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, MN and continue one hour prior to the service on Monday at church. Interment will be at Dunbar Memorial Cemetery, Minnesota Lake Township, Faribault County, MN. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is assisting the family.
Marian Josephine was born May 17, 1922 in Blue Earth County, MN, the daughter of Joseph and Mina (Hendrickson) Holan. She was united in marriage to Clarence Weckwerth, October 22, 1946 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Minnesota Lake, MN.
Marian enjoyed listening and dancing to old time music with her husband. She enjoyed sharing her music and yodeling with the residents at The Shepherd's Inn, coffee with friends, shopping and spending time with her family, grandkids and great-grandkids.
She is survived by her children: Dennis (Donna) Weckwerth, and Larry (Jill) Weckwerth all of Wells, MN; 5 grandchildren: Scott Weckwerth of Eagle Lake, MN, Stacey (Lance) Stenzel of Mankato, MN, Mike (Clover) Weckwerth of Apple Valley, MN, Eric (Kristin) Weckwerth of Rochester, MN, Guy (Kaitlin) Weckwerth of Akeley, MN; 12 great-grandchildren: Kylie Weckwerth of Duluth, MN, Jadyn Weckwerth of Eagle Lake, MN; Leah Stenzel of Lake Crystal, MN, Mason Stenzel of LaCrosse, WI; Sarah Weckwerth (and Marian's great-great grandson Shawn) of Apple Valley, Chase Weckwerth of Apple Valley, MN; Reid, Brennan, Kate and Griffin Weckwerth of Rochester, MN; Brady and Adelyn Weckwerth of Akeley, MN; 3 foster granddaughters: Calie, Cassie and Claira of Wells; 1 sister: Betty Holan of Austin, MN; 2 brothers: John (Janice) Holan of Mounds View, MN, and Jim (Lorrie) Holan of Madison, MN; along with several nieces, nephews and their families.
Marian is preceded in death by her parents; husband Clarence (2018); 2 sisters, Mildred Anderson and Mary Schultz, and brother George Holan.
