Leo Oscar Danks, age 87, of Wells, MN, died Friday, March 2, 2018 at Abbot Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at 10:30 AM at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, MN, with Pastor Paul Woolverton officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Rosehill Cemetery in Wells. Military honors will be accorded by the Wells Color Guard.
Leo was born on September 16, 1930 in Walnut Lake, Twp., Faribault County, MN, the son of Oscar and Agnes (Taylor) Danks. He attended country school and graduated from Wells High School at Wells, MN. Leo served in the US Navy before coming back to the family farm to help his dad. Leo worked for Allied Van Company in Las Vegas during the winters so he could enjoy the sun and the fun and escape the cold in Minnesota. Leo was a member of the Wells American Legion. He enjoyed watching a good ball game on TV and a cold Miller beer. Leo loved the ladies and looking at the crops with his neighbors.
He is survived by 2 sisters: Norma Paulson of Northfield, MN and Marie Patton of Glendora, CA; nieces, nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jimmy, Harry (Helen) and Larry Danks; brothers-in-law: Harold Paulson and Albert Patton.
