Kathryn Mary Rauenhorst, age 91, former long-time resident of Easton, MN, was called home Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Eagan Senior Pointe in Eagan MN. A MEMORIAL MASS WILL BE HELD SATURDAY, APRIL 27, 2019 AT ST.CASIMIR CATHOLIC CHURCH IN WELLS, MN AT 11:00 AM. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the Church. Interment will be OLMC Cemetery, and Deacon Gene Paul will officiate. Memorials may be directed to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church or Brighton Hospice. Kathryn was born March 10th, 1927 in Blue Earth, the daughter of Joseph and Ann (Griffin) Grise in Faribault County MN. She was a proud graduate of Blue Earth High School and the Mankato Commercial College. She was united in marriage to Milton Rauenhorst on August 6, 1955 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Easton MN for over 50 years. Kathryn worked at Metropolitan Life in Mankato MN after attending Commercial College and also worked at the Blue Earth Court house.
Kathryn loved all types of music and played the violin and piano. She was proud of her Irish heritage and created volumes of genealogy and historical records for the Griffin, Grise and Rauenhorst families. Kathryn will be remembered for her contagious laugh, love of reading, kindness and love for her family.
Kathryn is survived by her children Teresa (Gregg) Heckley of Tampa, FL, Julie Welsh of Naperville, IL, Jerry of Mankato, Mary Kay (Chris) Coyne of Apple Valley and Kim of Mankato; grandchildren: Mary and Thomas Welsh V, Laura and Nicole Heckley, Katie and Kelly Coyne; sisters-in-law Betty (Larry) Thisius and Marilyn Rauenhorst, both of Wells, MN; brother-in-law Tom Lubitz of Mapleton, MN; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Milton; son-in- law Thomas Welsh IV; brother-in-law Donald (Darlene) Rauenhorst; sisters-in-law Mary Jane (Harvey) Vogel, Melaine (James) Theede and Margaret Lubitz; nieces: Pamela Lubitz, Karen Thisius, Diane Thisius; and nephew John Rauenhorst.
