Jeanine Brenda Groskreutz, age 57, of Elysian, MN died Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Hillcrest Rehabilitation Center in Mankato, MN. A private family service will be held at a later date. The family prefers memorials to Spastic Paraplegia Research at the Mayo clinic in Rochester, MN.

Jeanine Brenda was born March 28, 1961 in Blue Earth, MN, the daughter of Thomas and Doris (Reeding) Gaard. She was united in marriage to Russell Groskreutz September 18, 1982 in Blue Earth, MN. The couple later divorced. Jeanine attended K-12 in Blue Earth, graduating in 1979 and continued her education in Mankato, MN at the technical school. Most recently Jeanine lived at Elm Homes in Elysian, MN, where she had many friends on staff. She enjoyed watching movies, Vikings football and game shows. Jeanine retired from MRCI earlier this year.

Jeanne is survived by her brother Brian (Ruthann) Gaard of Alden, MN; sister Pamela (Robert) Perata of Vallejo, California; aunt Ron Gaard of Anchorage, AK; nieces: Kimberly (Darrin) Dylla of Hastings, MN, Karen (Keith) Liddell of Brookfield, IL, and Jaclyn (Terry) Forsberg of Brainerd, MN; five great nieces and two great nephews along with many cousins.

She was preceded in death by parents; sister Debra Gaard; aunt Vivian (Reeding) Piotter; aunts and uncles: Audrey and Ralph Roforth, Anne and Wally Newman, LaDonna and Arch McDonald, Ruth and Jack Armstrong, Mavis Roforth, Arthur and Dorothy Gaard, and Donald Gaard.
