Henry Louis "Hank" Gieneart, age 82, of Minnesota Lake, MN, died Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato, MN. A memorial gathering with Hank's family will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2017, from 3:00-7:00 PM, in the basement of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Minnesota Lake, MN. Appetizers and sandwiches will be provided by Magggie J's of Mapleton, MN during the gathering with the family.
Hank was born September 18, 1935 the son of Henry and Helen Gieneart. He graduated from Marshall High School. He then served in the US Navy from September 1954 – September 1958, on the USS Bayfield. After his honorable discharge, he went on to study at Mankato State University, where he met the love of his life, Joanie Ebeling. The couple was united in marriage August 20, 1960 in Mankato.
Hank worked for Nordaas American Homes in Minnesota Lake from 1961 – 1975. He then owned and operated M&J Service in Minnesota Lake for many years, rounding out his sales career with M&J Promotions.
Hank was a charter member of the Minnesota Lake Lions, and a member of the Minnesota Lake American Legion, Wells VFW, and Hoot n' Hollar in Wells.
He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Michelle Rae, sister Patricia Neil, brother Lester Gieneart, and brother-in-law Bill Ebeling.
Hank is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Joanie of Minnesota Lake, MN; children: Mike Gieneart of Evansville, IN, JoRae (Dave) Schultz of Mukwonago, WI; grandchildren: Michael "Jon" II, and Reid Gieneart, Quentin, Gavin and Callan Schultz; sister, Diane (Dennis) Flicker of Danville, CA; many children and grandchildren of Hank and Joanie's heart; along with many nieces, nephews and their families.
