Evelyn Ann McLain, age 94, of Wells, MN died Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Thorne Crest Senior Living in Albert Lea, MN. A funeral service will be held Monday, May 1, at 10:30 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells, MN, with Pr. Mary Iverson officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, April 30, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, MN, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Interment will be at Rosehill Cemetery in Wells.

Evelyn Ann was born October 31, 1922 in Easton, Minnesota, the daughter of Paul T. and Nellie (Veloske) Schultz. She was united in marriage to Harvey McLain December 28, 1938 in Wells, and to this union 2 daughters were born, Pat and Linda. Evelyn enjoyed throwing horseshoes and bowling in her younger days. She loved gardening, embroidery and canning. She was a member of the Wells VFW and Legion Auxiliaries, and a longtime member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Harvey (1986), daughter Patricia Stenzel (2017); 8 brothers and sisters: Melvin, Norbert, James, Ralph, LeRoy; Marcella Bangs, Dorothy Olson, and Loretta Diaz.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Linda (Ron) Niebuhr of Wells; son-in-law, Ken Stenzel of Wells; 4 grandchildren: Lenny Kauffmann, Vicki (Danny) Johnson, Kurt (Missy) Niebuhr, Mike (Becky) Stenzel; 9 great-grandchildren: Nate, Zach and Kylie; Kristy, Josh and Karl; Lilly, Laythan and Landyn; 3 great-great-grandchildren: Jaxon, Jase and Callan; 1 sister, Mildred Sailor of Wells; brother-in-law, Barney Diaz; as well as many nieces, nephews and their families.
