Earl Maynard Iverson, age 71, of Kiester, MN died Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Kiester, MN, with Pr. Katie Pals officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 13 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, MN, and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will at Our Savior's Cemetery in Kiester, MN. Military Honors will be accorded by the Kiester American Legion Post #454.

Earl was born March 28, 1945 in rural Albert Lea, MN, to Elmo and Violet (Eilertson) Iverson. He graduated from Kiester High School in 1963. He honorably served our country in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. Earl married Cynthia Kay Ehrich on June 28, 1970 in rural Elmore, MN, and to this union 3 children were born. He graduated from Staples Vocational College where he studied to become a Heavy Machinery Operator. He worked in construction, driving semi-truck, and doing road maintenance for Faribault County for over 30 years until his retirement. Earl also helped area farmers with field work during harvest season, which he loved. He had an interest in tractors, and he collected John Deere and Caterpillar watch fobs and belt buckles. He also had a well maintained fleet, and liked to keep his vehicles sparkly. Earl liked to watch western and action movies. He enjoyed having coffee and breakfast with the guys. Joking and visiting with friends and family always brought him joy.

Earl is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jane Iverson in October 2016; and sister-in-law, Susan Ristau.

Earl is survived by his wife Cindy of Kiester, MN; children: Ryan (Jessica) Iverson of Olathe, KS, Kristin (Eric) Weckwerth of Rochester, MN, Cole (Calista) Iverson of Overland Park, KS; grandchildren: Elizabeth and Luke Iverson, Reid, Brennan, Kate, and Griffin Weckwerth, and Celia Iverson, and one baby sibling on the way; brother: Tom Iverson (Diane Hoffbauer) of Eagle River, AK; sister-in-law: Melody (Bill) Hammel of Eyota, MN, and brother-in-law, Arniss Ristau of Elmore, MN; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
