Donna Mae Mershon, age 89, of Wells, MN died Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Mayo clinic Health System-Mankato, MN. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells, MN with Pr. Mary Iverson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be at Rosehill Cemetery, Wells.
Donna Mae Mershon was born November 17, 1930 to Paul and Rose (Iverson) Mershon in Wells. Donna graduated from Wells High School, the class of 1948. She worked at Placers Wells Hatchery for over 20 years, and then worked at People's State Bank until retirement. She filled cemetery urns for many years with her sister and brother-in-law Joyce and LeRoy Larson. She was an avid bowler and has many trophies to show for it. She enjoyed watching the Twins and the Timberwolves. She spent lots of time with word find books. Donna loved spending time with her sisters and brothers and her nieces and nephews and their families. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells.
She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Rose, and grandparents Iver and Bertha Iverson and C.D. and Lucy Mershon; brothers: Charles and Robert (Mildred) Mershon; brothers-in-law: Eugene Oldenburg and LeRoy Larson; sisters-in-law: Margaret Mershon and Janet Mershon; nephew Dennis Morehouse and grand-nephews Baby Richard Jeffrey Mershon and Griffin Mershon, nephew-in-law, Steve Corey.
She is survived by her siblings: sister Marlene Oldenburg of Austin, Richard Mershon of Albert Lea, and Joyce Larson of Wells; Nieces: Susan (John) Eggers, Cheryl Corey, Sandy (John) Fish, Lori (Ray) Willaert, Tracy Mershon and Debra Larson (Paul Wellman), Jane (Ted) Ellingson of White Bear Lake, MN, Nancy Mershon, Linda (Kent) Stern, Deanne Mershon and Lisa Mershon, all of Wells; Nephews: Brad (Karen) Oldenburg, Paul Mershon, Mark (Nancy Kidd) Mershon, Richard "Ricky" Mershon, Donald Larson and Tim Mershon; grand nieces and nephews and their families.
