Heart Emblem

Donna Mae (Dylla) Allen, age 83, of Wells, MN, left this world Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Good Samaritan Society in Albert Lea, MN. (Per Donna's request,) no funeral services will be held. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is assisting the family.
Donna Mae was born March 29, 1933 in Brush Creek Township, Faribault County, MN, the daughter of Andrew and Mildred (Brandt) Kirkeide. She married Roman Dylla on May 10, 1951, and to this union 9 children were born: Diane, Denny, Deb, Darcy, Dynette, David, Darrin, Duane and Denise. Roman died November 9, 1980. Donna married Jerry "Andy" Allen of Alden on November 25, 1982. Donna had many jobs in her lifetime. She was a care taker, a factory worker, a cook, a wife, a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, a gardener, a seamstress, a nurse, a taxi driver, a card player, a bingo player, a puzzle player, a tooth fairy, an Easter bunny and Santa Claus. Mom enjoyed the simple things in life and was most happy when she was helping others. Donna always wanted to do more for her family. Her life was simple and she wanted it that way. She had many challenges in her life and her strength shined through. Because of the simple life she led, Donna requested and asked her children to simply "remember me". She has requested no funeral and we respect and honor her wish and ask that you, her friends and family also "Remember this simple woman who was happiest doing for others". Words cannot express how much she will be missed or how grateful her children are, that Donna was our mom. Rest in peace dear Mom, you may be gone but will never be forgotten.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Roman and Jerry; son, Denny; 2 brothers: Steve and Edward; 3 sisters: Mary, Shirley and Joan.
