Dolores was born on May 21, 1928, in Faribault County, the daughter of Paul K. Stenzel and Balbina (Chicos) Stenzel. She married Gordon Patrick Cory on April 13, 1948, in Easton and raised her fourteen children on the farm that she loved. She liked to work outside whenever she could—gardening and taking care of the baby pigs and the chickens. Even in her later years, she wanted to be out mowing the lawn. Dolores was also an excellent seamstress, cook and baker. In years past, her famous homemade chicken noodle hotdish was the star of every holiday meal. Over the years, she served on various committees at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Easton, MN. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Easton.

May choirs of angels receive her, and may she have eternal rest" (adapted from a traditional prayer, In paradisum).
