Dennis Floyd Rebelein, 71, of Wells, MN was called home to be with his Lord, surrounded by his loving family, October 21, 2019. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells from 2:00-4:00 PM at the funeral home. A Prayer Service, celebrating the life of Dennis will begin at 4:00 PM with Pr. Meg Sander at the funeral home.
Dennis was born July 28, 1948 to Floyd and Norma (Hoeg) Rebelein of Walters, MN. He graduated from Alden-Conger High School in 1966 and later graduated from Albert Lea Vo-Tech with a degree in drafting. On June 28, 1969 Dennis married the love of his life, Karen. To this union, three children were born: Michelle Finch, Dennis Rebelein Jr. and April Melvin.
The Rebelein's settled in Wells, MN where Dennis worked for Wells Concrete Products as a drafter. In the mid 70's, he began working for his father in-law at Weber & Sons Construction as Crew Lead and Office Manager. He worked there for many years, but later began his own game bird business, which he continued into early retirement.
Outside of work, Dennis was a multitalented individual and passionate about his hobbies. He was an avid sportsman who loved hunting, fishing, and playing pool. He developed a love for Arabian horses, and for many years he bred and showed them alongside his family. During his retirement he spent his time travelling, especially in the Lake Michigan area, where he enjoyed the local culture and fishing scene. He had a thirst for knowledge and always had something new to share with his friends and family. He loved dogs, but always kept a special place in his heart for Labrador Retrievers. But above all else, he loved his family the most.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen, as well as his children and grandchildren: Michelle Finch and husband Paul of Mankato, MN, their children Christian and Tabitha, his son Dennis Rebelein Jr. and wife Tammy of Brookings, SD, their children Shannon, Gabrielle, Brady, Sheridan, and Shane, his daughter April Melvin and husband Terry of Mankato, MN, and their daughter Alexis. He is also survived by his siblings JoAnne Stoa (husband Jim), Curt Rebelein (wife Cathy), Sharon Kearney (husband Mike).
He is preceded in death by his mother, Norma, his father, Floyd, his brother, Howard, and numerous aunts and uncles.
