Delores Mae Jacobson age 92 of Apple Valley, MN formerly Bricelyn, MN died Monday, September 2, 2019 at Augustana Care Health in Apple Valley, MN. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019 at Bricelyn Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Bricelyn, MN. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in Bricelyn Lutheran Cemetery, Seely Twp., Faribault Co., MN.

Delores Mae was born June 14, 1927 in Mankato, MN, the daughter of Roy and Evelyn (Swartout) Jones. She was baptized at First Presbyterian Church, Mankato, and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church, Judson, MN where she was substitute organist at the age of 12.
After graduation from Nicollet High School and Mankato Commercial College she was employed by Northwestern Bell, Mankato, and Attorney Nick Juliar, St. Clair. On December 28, 1952 she was united in marriage to Ronald Jacobson at The Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa. To this union, three sons were born: Kent, Douglas, and Gary.

Delores was a member of Bricelyn Lutheran Church and directed Jr. Choir for 9 years. She was a WELCA member and church organist for 50 years. She taught piano students for 22 years and enjoyed serving as accompanist for soloists and groups. She was an active community member and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was a loving caretaker of her husband during his battle with cancer which preceded his death on September 13, 1989.

She is survived by her three sons: Kent of Bricelyn, Douglas and wife Karen of Apple Valley, and Gary and wife Max of Casper, WY; four grandchildren: Mike, Chantelle, Alison, and Joel; three great grandchildren, Tyler, Alyssa, and Mason; brother-in-law Kermit and wife Carol Jacobson of Sacramento, CA, and sister-in-law Beverly Johnson of Edina, MN, nieces, nephews and many friends.
