Daisy Bach, age 83, of Minnesota Lake, MN, died Friday, April 21, 2017 at her home in Minnesota Lake. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 10:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Minnesota Lake, with Fr. Andrew Vogel officiating. Visitation will be Monday, April 24, 2017 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Minnesota Lake. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
Daisy was born July 21, 1933 in Mapleton, MN, the daughter of Govert and Olga Van Rossum. She was united in marriage to Victorian Bach on November 29, 1950 in Mapleton, MN, and then moved to Minnesota Lake. Vic and Daisy started out as owners of The Local Tavern, and later sold it to her brother Ted and moved to the farm. The couple farmed in the Minnesota Lake area until 1968 when they moved back to town. Daisy worked at the Municipal Liquor Store and then Ray's Grocery for over 25 years. She was an avid card player and was a member of many different card clubs. She enjoyed watching Minnesota sports teams, especially the MN Twins. She was an avid reader and enjoyed collecting coins. Daisy loved when her grandkids would stop for a visit. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Rosary Society.
Daisy is survived by her children: Mary (Eugene) Sorenson of Minnesota Lake, MN, Shirley (Bruce) Mogk of Alden, MN, David (Linda) Bach of Minnesota Lake, MN, Vicki (Ron) Ankrum of Owatonna, MN, Sue Boyes of Wells, MN, Nancy (Monte) Mowry of Owatonna, MN, and Richard (Christy) Bach of Thornton, CO; foster son Barry Warren of Owatonna; 12 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 17 step-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews and their families.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Vic in 2007; grandson Joe Ferstl; 1 granddaughter; son-in-law John Boyes; 4 brothers: Ted, Ed, Maurice and Ben.
