Curtis C. Collins, age 73, of Waldorf, MN, died Tuesday, March 19, 2019 peacefully with his family by his side. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 10:30 AM at First Lutheran Church in Waldorf with Pastor Michael Mathews officiating. Visitation will be Friday, March 22, from 4-7 pm at First Lutheran Church in Waldorf and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Community Cemetery in Waldorf, MN. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is assisting the family.

Curt was born Nov. 10, 1945, in Waseca, the son of Orville and Leona (Joecks) Collins. He graduated from Waldorf High School, the class of 1963. He was united in marriage to Barbara J. Prail at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville on September 24, 1966 and to this union two children, Amy and Paul were born. Curt was a member of First Lutheran Church in Waldorf. Curtis was a member of the Waldorf Fire Department for 34 years and held the position of Fire Chief for many years. He was the Mayor of Waldorf and was a councilman for the city. Curt worked for the fertilizer plant in Waldorf for 34 years while farming and retired from Cenex to farm full-time. He loved spending time with his family. He was a lifelong farmer and liked to hunt and fish. Curtis enjoyed solving the world's problems at the south end of Waldorf, talking smart with his friends.

Curt is preceded in death by his parents, wife Barb of 43 years and brother-in-law, Robert Prail.

He is survived by his children: Paul (wife Deanna) Collins of Waldorf, Amy (husband Keith) Juliar of Farmington, MN; three grandchildren: Rachel Collins, Taylor and Jack Juliar; four step-grandchildren: Lena, Chelsey, Masion and Logan Nesset; sister, Gloria (husband Gary) Crossman of Eau Claire, WI; special friend, Patricia Coy of New Richland, MN and her family; sisters-in-law: Jan Prail of Janesville, MN and Beverly (husband Darold) Habeck of St. Peter, MN; along with several nieces and nephews and their families.
