Clifford Robert Treptow, age 87, of Wells, MN, died Monday, July 30, 2018 at his daughter's home in Clarks Grove, MN surrounded by family. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells, MN, with Pr. Mary Iverson and Pr. Matt Hundley officiating. Visitation will be Friday, August 3, from 5 – 7 PM at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be at Rice Lake Cemetery in Foster Township, Faribault County, MN. Military Honors will be accorded by the Wells Color Guard. Memorials are preferred to the Wells Memorial Veterans Park or Mayo Clinic Health System Hospice.

Clifford Robert was born December 22, 1930 in Wells, MN the son of William and Elsie (Passer) Treptow. Clifford completed 9th grade and then due to his father's injury, he quit school to help keep the farm going. He served in the U.S. Army. He was united in marriage to Norma Matz November 4, 1954 at Rice Lake Evangelical United Brethren Church. He farmed for many years and owned and managed The Friendship Home in Wells, MN. He also sold Ozark Insurance for several years. Clifford served on the Walters Fire Department and the Kiester School Board. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells and Vineyard Church in Albert Lea, MN. Clifford enjoyed fishing, model trains, campfires and family time, reading, mowing lawns, and was a Twins fan. He enjoyed working at the Minnesota Lake Tribune until he became ill.

Cliff is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Norma; infant son, David Treptow; grandson, Matthew Schuster; and great-granddaughter, Josie Marie Buendorf; brother, Ralph Treptow; sisters: Viola Dallman and Loretta Sorensen.

He is survived by his children: Sandra (Randy) Buendorf of Hillsboro, MO, Nora (Brian) Thompson of Clarks Grove, MN, Patricia (William) Schuster of Wells, MN, Jeffery (Terra) Treptow of Fort Wayne, IN, Joel (Tanya) Treptow of Wells, MN; siblings: Howard Treptow of Winnebago, MN, Marcella Garlow of Wells, MN, Arvilla Kain of Minnesota Lake, MN, Gordy (Maggie) Treptow of Wells, MN; brother and sister-in-law: Don (Ellie) Frederick of Mesa, AZ; 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
