Benjamin C. Groskreutz, age 81 of Wells, MN, died Sunday, October 6, 2019 at Parkview Care Center, Wells, MN. A Funeral will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Wells with Pastor Mary Iverson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at church on Saturday. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery, Wells, Faribault Co., MN. Arrangements by Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, MN. The family prefers memorials to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and/or Wells Ambulance Service.

Benjamin Clarence was born Sept. 24, 1938 in Vivian Twp., Waseca Co., MN to Esther Agnes Hattie (Kain) and Frank Groskreutz. He was a member of the 1952 First Confirmation class at First Lutheran Church of Wells. Benny was employed at Stampers for nine years and also worked for his brother at Bill's Standard for over 30 years. He enjoyed family reunions, summer celebrations, county fairs and the state fair. Benny could be found on Friday nights at the Flame Theater watching every movie for many years. All the kids would say "Hi Benny" as they found their seats. Church was important to Benny. He liked to beat the ushers to church on Sunday mornings. Benny took his dad to see his mom at the nursing home daily. His family was important to him and he took great pride in his family.
Benjamin is survived by his brothers: Frank (wife Wanita) Groskreutz of Waseca, MN, David (wife Linda) Groskreutz of Wells, MN, and Gene Groskreutz of Dallas TX; sisters: Anna Louise (husband Roger) Hodgkins of Janesville, MN and Jeanette (Dale) Matheson of Blue Earth, MN; along with many special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: William (Lois) Groskreutz, Paul (Mary) Groskreutz; sister-in-law: Gladean Groskreutz; brother-in-law: Harlin Schultz.
A big Thank You to the staff at Parkview Care Center for the terrific care given to Benny.
