Alan Kent Olson was born on March 5, 1944, to Glendon and Daphne (Bosacker) Olson in Waseca, MN. Alan attended school in Waseca and joined the United States Air Force. On October 16, 1965, he married the love of his life, Coni (Johnson) Olson. Alan surprised Coni with a renewal of vows ceremony in 2007, they celebrated 51 years of marriage in 2016.

Alan was blessed with a unique sense of humor that he shared with everyone. He was well-known and respected in the community after carrying mail for 30 years, and he loved the customers on his route. Alan was remarkably proud of his work ethic. After working all day, he could be found installing floor covering in the evening. He found retirement was not for him and mowed lawns for Schrader Enterprises for 10 summers. Alan loved spending time with his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, playing cards, deer hunting, drinking coffee with friends, traveling with Coni, and helping at the Wells Area Food Shelf. He was a faithful member of Good Shepard Lutheran Church and had a strong relationship with "his buddy," God. He also participated in Via de Cristo and Promise Keepers Bible study, and was a 47-year member of AA.

Alan is survived by his wife, Coni; daughter, Jodi (Keith) Balster of Mankato, MN; son, Corey (Mary "Spong") Olson of Wells, MN; six grandchildren: Carli and Mason Balster, and Ashley, Aubrey, Cassie, and Bailey Olson; two half-brothers: Glen Olson of Hopkins, MN, and David Olson of St. Louis Park, MN; brother-in-law, Lamar (Bev) Johnson of Wells, MN; sister-in-law, Darlyne Espeland of Forest City, MN; uncle, Fritz Bosacker of Owatonna, MN; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
