Aurelius "Ray" was born December 13, 1928 in Walnut Lake Twp., Faribault Co, MN, the son of Nickolas and Agnes (Dulas) Kalis. Ray joined the U.S Air Force and served as a mechanic during the Korean War. On March 13, 1951, he married Lois Stevermer at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Easton, MN, where they have been faithful, active members since. The couple made their home on a farm in rural Wells. Ray loved the changing seasons in farming. He enjoyed driving the country side, checking crops and fishing. Working on his antique tractors was a favorite pastime, and after retirement he loved to tinker in his garage.
Ray and Lois were always together, where you saw one, you saw the other.
Ray will be missed by his children: Linda (Dennis) Johnson of Minnetonka, MN, Paul (Kathy) Kalis of Wells, MN, Charlie (Peggy) Kalis of Easton, MN, daughter-in-law, Sue Kalis of Wells, MN Joline Pearson (Mike Sandt) of Wells, MN, Marc (Kari) Kalis of Dover, MN; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

We have such wonderful memories of your father and he and your Mom taught us so much about life and faith. I think one of Sandi's most memorable memories is the time she had to explain the dent in his brand new John Deer lawn mower...he handled it rather well and even let her drive it again! As Michael's godfather, he instilled in him the value of family, hard work, and faith which he has tried to carry on.
We hope you all find comfort knowing Ray is in his final resting place along side "his girl", Andy, Troy, Kurt, and all the others that have been patiently awaiting his arrival in our Lord's home.

I have many happy memories of my father (Louis), Leo, Eddie, Ray, Maggie, Kathryn, and grandpa Nick all speaking Polish together and then laughing a lot. Ray was always friendly, kind, and had a warm smile. Lois & Ray will be greatly missed.
