Tribute & Message From The Family

Willard E. Huper, age 87, of Wells, MN died Monday, December 9, 2019 at Good Samaritan Society in Albert Lea, MN. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells, MN with Pr. Mary Iverson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Willard was born June 16, 1932, the son of Louis and Clara (Frederick) Huper in Wells, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed and married at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Wells. He graduated from Wells High School, the class of 1951. June 19, 1951, he was united in marriage to Marvel Korman, to this union 4 children were born. The couple celebrated 68 years of marriage in June of 2019. Willard farmed his entire life and he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marvel; 2 sons: Steve (wife Kim) Huper and Tom (wife Angie) Huper, all of Wells; daughter-in-law, Karen Huper of Lake Mills, IA; 7 grandchildren: Alisha (Mike) Melhus of Rogers, MN, Brett Sylvara of Janesville, MN; Matt Huper of Lake Crystal, Josh Huper (Sarah Yates) of Wells, Megan Huper of Evergreen, CO, Alex Huper of Wells and his (fiancé Lyndee Nohner, Waseca) and Jack Huper of Wells, MN; 10 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews and their families.
Willard is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Alfred Huper, sister, Adeline Niebuhr, grandson Cory Huper (1996), son Daniel Huper (2005), daughter Beverly Sylvara (2019).

So sorry, Marvel and family, for Willard's passing. You have had a long married life so it's difficult to lose that extension of yourself. I don't have many Wells contacts anymore since Phyllis is gone. I am in regular contact with Elaine. My niece, Marlene Schroeder, still lives there. It seems you have a nice family to ease your pain.

To the Huper family, so sorry for your loss, it is never easy to say goodbye to anyone, our prayers and thoughts are with your entire family. Steve, we had some great ties together at your farm, you are still considered on of my best friends. Take care and remember the Lord will take care of things.
