Mary Jane Steinke, 63, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019 at her home in Kiester, MN, from complications of cancer, surrounded by her family. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019 at 6:00 PM at the Bricelyn Lutheran Church, with Pastor Bob Stover officiating. Memorial visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 PM prior to the service at the church on Wednesday Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Mary Jane was born July 17, 1956 in Austin, MN, the daughter of Clayton and Margaret (Jordan) Kamp. She graduated from Lyle High School and vocational school in Austin. On January 18, 1980 she married Alan Steinke in Waseca, MN. Through the years Mary was employed at E. F. Johnson's and McDonalds, she helped farm and was manager of the Kiester Liquor Store. She was a member of the Bricelyn Lutheran Church. Mary enjoyed fishing, traveling, bonfires, football and baseball. She loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband Alan of Kiester; children: Shane Steinke (Jenny Korn) of Kiester, MN, Shannon Steinke (Bryan Moller) of Emmons, MN; grandchildren: Austin, Dylan, Oaklee and Asher; Carter and Tristan; in-laws: William Klusmier of Truman, MN, Machelle Steinke-Meyers (husband Dan) of Cocoa Beach, FL, Steve (special friend Nith) Steinke of Waseca, MN; several nieces, nephews and their families.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Ronald Kamp and Wesley Ziegler; sister Diane Kamp Klusmier.
